It's definitely my favourite time of year and I love finding Christmas goodies nice and early to get extra excited about. This year I have been lucky enough to try out one of the beauty advent calendars by The Green People. I have seen so many beauty advent calendars around this year but for me the one by the Green People was perfect, as it's packed full of cruelty free, certified organic skincare and makeup! For those of you who had followed by blog for a while you will know I am a huge lover of their products!
*** SPOILER ALERT *** products included in this advent calendar are mentioned below
Hello my lovelys and welcome back!
Today i'm going to be talking about my experience getting microneedling! I had my first session recently and thought it was something that you guys might be interested in reading about :-)
So first thing's first, what is microneedling?
I'm sure many of you have heard of microneedling or dermaroller and seen the photo of Kim Kardashians bloody face and wandered what an earth is that?! In a nutshell microneedling basically puts hundreds of tiny little controlled punctures all over your face, which then forces your skin into repair mode. The Microneedling procedure is aimed at stimulating the natural processes of production and regeneration of collagen.
(For a much more detailed description and all the ins/out from a professional be sure to check out www.chellesbellesbeauty.com/microneedlingsussex)
I'd heard of microneedling in passing but when I really became interested in trying it out was when I went to get my eyebrows topped up and found out the lady who does my microblading was also going to be doing microneedling! For me personally, finding a good/trustworthy person to do the treatment is absolutely essential... especially for something like this!
I was super excited to get the treatment done, I really wasn't worried about the pain or anything like that... besides if it hurt it would be worth it right?
To start Chelle put some numbing cream all over my face, I think this was on for about 20 minutes. During this time she explained the process and went over aftercare details ect. Once the numbing cream had kicked in we started with the microneedling. It wasn't really painful at just a scratchy strange feeling! Chelle explained to me how she was changing the needle depth to suit the skin on different parts of my face, so the treatment really is tailored to your skin rather than a 1 size fits all.
It was actually done quite quickly and then of course I had to snap a red faced selfie!
Hello my darlings, I hope you've all had a good week so far?
I can't believe we finally got some snow in Brighton! Although the sun has been shining through it still seems to be so cold out...I do love the winter months as I get to wrap up in my favourite jumpers, sweatpants and coats BUT the cold weather really does take it's toll on my skin and hair!
In today's post I will be focusing on some new haircare I am currently using that really helps to condition and protect your hair. My hair has been bleached a number of times so I'm always on the look out for good products to use!
Firstly, I am very pleased to say this shampoo is cruelty free, SLS free, organic and packed full of lovely natural ingredients! The intensive repair shampoo and condition is made by The Green People, one of my long term fav skincare brands so I was very excited to try the shampoo.
A Little bit about the shampoo and conditioner...
The shampoo features our Colour lock system and is a strengthening shampoo for coloured or dry hair Made with Organic Green Tea, Yucca, Quinoa, Sandalwood & Orange its 82% certified organic and contains Quinoa Protein to help limit colour fade.
The conditioner is designed for dry, coloured, chemically-treated & frequently blow-dried hair and is a welcome treat for dry or stressed out hair. Made with Organic Green Tea, Aloe Vera & B vitamin, it boosts shine and nourishes scalp and hair shaft and helps prevents scalp dryness and loss of natural oils
Both the products have a really nice citrus smell which I personally love. I found the shampoo foamed up well on my hair (sometimes SLS free shampoos don't foam well) but this one seemed to work great and left my hair feeling very clean and refreshed.
I like to apply a generous amount of conditioner to my hair, you don't need too much of this one as a little goes a long way. I did feel it helped smooth my protect my hair which is exactly what I need. When conditioning my hair I like to leave the conditioner on for a couple of minutes to really like it soak in and treat the hair!
I have quite a dry itchy scalp and both the shampoo and conditioner didn't cause any irritation, if anything they helped soothe my scalp. I have found all of the products I have used from the Green People really help to soothe my skin...definitely must be a combo of ingredients that work well for me!
It has taken me quite a while to find some good cruelty free, SLS free haircare but I think I've finally found some I can stick to!
If you are on the lookout for a new shampoo/condition and would like something that does the job without being full of harsh chemicals then I'd 100% recommend picking up a bottle of this stuff!
What are your favourite haircare products? What do you look for when searching for a shampoo and conditioner? Always love to hear your thoughts and recommendations!

Hello huns, how are you all?
Those of you who follow me on social media will probably have seen that I cut off over half on my hair last week! I have been wanting to chop it off for quite some time now but just wasn't brave enough for the big change...finally after months of contemplating I decided to go for it!
Why I decided to cut my hair?
To be honest I was getting a bit fed up of having really long hair. Although I love how it looked when I got out of the shower and first dried it, as the day went on I would find the underneath would often get knotted and to be honest it would just make me really hot!
I had my hair tried up the majority of the time so I just thought, what's the point of having lovely long hair to have it tired up all the time?
Choosing a style...
So when it came to choosing a style I knew I wanted to go quite a bit shorter, I wanted a big change and loved how the long bob looked on many other people. I decided to go for a slightly graduated lob so the front was longer than the back, I personally find this a really flattering hair style as well as being very easy to manage!
Styling my new hair...
If you read my last hair blog post you will know i'm not a fan of using heat tools on my hair, I was slightly worried about this as I wasn't sure if I would be able to style my new hair as I liked without curlers...all the tutorials I had watched on youtube all seemed to use a curling wand. However I am very pleased to say I managed to get some lovely waves by putting my hair in 2 dutch braids overnight just like I used to when it was long!
Overall I am so happy with my new hair! The simple things like being able to wear a scarf or hoodie without getting my hair tangled up in it is amazing :-) I love how quickly my hair dries and I can go with not brushing it all day and it's still not knotty in the evening...LOVE!
What do you guys think of the new style? If you would like to see any tutorials of how I style my lob please let me know!
Where I had my hair done:
I had my hair done by an amazing hairdresser called Danni, she is absolutely fantastic! If you are in the Sussex area and looking for a hairdresser I would definitely recommend getting in contact with her. She has her own little salon in Worthing, West Sussex. Very friendly, great prices as well as very talented!
After years of chopping and changing, I finally have long thick hair which is 100% my own! That is not to say I haven't still dyed it many times and given my hair a slight battering along the way...
In today's post I'm going to be sharing my tips and tricks on how to achieve long thick healthy hair, without it having to be all natural in terms of bleaching and dye!
Changing colour without too much damage...
I am someone who likes to change up the colour of my hair, from dark brown, to red to light brown and blonde...not the greatest if you are trying to avoid those split ends when growing your hair. However if you dye your hair correctly and take care of it along the way, you really can still keep the length without too much damage!
The anti ageing facial oil by the green people is definitely the best facial oil I have tried, it's packed with natural ingredients and goodness!
I woke up in the morning with red patches where I had applied the cream, but no spots.
My skin was very itchy and irritated, even after I washed my face my skin continued to itch ALOT. The only thing that would help to ease the irritation was applying Eucerin to my face. My skin also had a very strange texture...kind of leather like. Hmm this wasn't like anything I had experienced before!
I decided not to put anymore of the 'terminator 10' on my skin, even though I read you should continue to use benzoyl peroxide for your skin to adjust. It was just too painful and extremely itchy.
I had basically chemically burnt my skin!
I knew I wanted to continue using bp somehow, as it had clearly worked to get rid of my spots. So I looked around to find a product containing a lower percentage.
As my skin was still very sore I decided not to apply anymore bp products for a few days until it started to heal.
After about a week I felt I was ready to try using bp properly this time! I started using the Dermalogica daytime treatment every morning after washing my face. You only need a very tiny amount of this stuff, a little goes a long way. Make sure you avoid the eye area and neck as these parts are extra sensitive!
My skin still felt slightly itchy in areas but nothing compared to before.
I continued to apply this every morning after cleansing. It has been over 2 months and I've only had 1 or 2 tiny pimples come up, which didn't last longer than a day! I am now even able to apply small amounts of the 10% bp to areas I am particularly concerned about without it causing irritation.
As many people have said...benzoyl peroxide really is something you need to stick at and use carefully to see positive results.
After my skin had got used to the bp it has honestly been the best face cream I have ever used for keeping my spots away. It's really great to find a product (or ingredient should I say) that works consistently with amazing results, super pleased!
I think we all need to take some time out for ourselves to pamper our bodies. I try to take at least 1 evening a week to put on a hair and face mask, then relax! I also love to spend relaxing days in with the girls doing DIY spa days. In today's blog I will be sharing some things I like to do when I relax and ideas for a girls night in!
Firstly I like to make sure I am stocked up with snacks so I don't have to leave the house when i'm all relaxed. I love to have fresh fruit to snack on as it's super important to take care of yourself from the inside out :-) I then like to put on some comfy clothes...usually my dressing gown and slippers!
For a DIY facial firstly I remove any makeup I have on. I then like to steam my face to open up my pores for a deep clean. To do this I simply pour boiling water into a large bowl and put a towel over my head, then lean over the bowl for around 5 minutes. It gets really steamy and hot which is great to open the pores and get out any trapped dirt!
Following this I like to put on a face mask. My personal favs are clay masks and tea tree mask as these draw out impurities from the skin. I have blemish prone skin and find these 2 work best for me. However you can use whatever mask works well for your skin, depending what you are trying to achieve!
While my face mask is on I also like to give my hair some TLC. One super simple option for hair is to get some coconut oil and put this all over your hair. I like to tie my hair up in a bun once the oil is applied to keep it neat and tidy. You can leave this on for as long as you like, however I find it works great if you leave it on for a couple of hours. After washing your hair later that evening, it will feel super soft and healthy.
Again there are many options for hair masks, this is just one I like to do personally :-).
Then it's time to relax and eat your snacks!
Even though this is relaxing time, sometimes I like to bake cakes or fudge with my friends when having a girls day/night. I sure do have a sweet tooth! If you are interested in seeing any recipes please let me know.
Also while your face/hair mask is on this could be great time to paint your nails or whiten your teeth! I find painting my nails quite therapeutic at times :-) for teeth whitening I just use the Crest 3D whitening strips which are super easy to use.
These are just a couple of ideas which I enjoy and thought you might too!
Please do remember that is it important to take time for yourself, we all deserve it <3
I wanted to share a product I have been using for the past month which has had amazing results for me and may work for you too. The product is Dudu Osun black soap <3 I wash my face with this morning and night. I also use it over my body when I shower and it can be used on hair too (although I haven't tried it out on my hair).
I originally saw this soap recommended by another beauty blogger who used it to treat acne and thought I must give it a try. It has all natural ingredients including lime juice, honey and coco pod ash which all help to cleanse/tone the face without harsh chemicals. I have sensitive skin which seems to get irritated easily which then cause breakouts...so I like to use products which clean really well without being too harsh on the skin.
I like to wet my face with warm water then lava up the soap of my hands before rubbing over my face. I then wash it off using warm or cold water and pat my face dry. This soap removes all my make-up and leaves my skin squeaky clean! I also find if I have any spots coming up they are gone or hugely reduced by the morning after using this soap :-).
I have heard Dudu Osun helps clear acne and fade dark spots. I do not have acne but from my experience it has definitely helped with my breakouts and evened out my skin tone. For the first week I used this soap it made my skin pretty dry, however this was easily fixed with some moisturizer (I have an oily T-zone with dry cheeks & chin). After sticking with this soap morning and night it now leaves my skin so clear and soft I do not even need to use moisturizer which is amazing!! I do still like to use a facial oil each night to keep my skin extra hydrated...anything to fight back future wrinkles :P.
As this soap contains lime juice it can slightly sting the skin, this hasn't happened to me personally but my sister tried it out and found it stung around her nose area. However after a few days her skin adjusted and it no longer stings. If you use any AHA products I don't think you'll notice any stinging or tingly sensations with this product.
I would say my skin is currently in the best condition it has been for years with minimal breakouts, a more even skin tone and dry patches eliminated! All thanks to Dudu Osun black soap...I would definitely recommend trying out this product. I really hope this works for some of you guys as well as it has worked for me!
Where to buy:
2017 UPDATE! It has now been over 2 years since I started using this soap. I still use Dudu Osun every night to wash my face, My skin is in a lovely condition and I wouldn't swap this soap for any other cleanser! Tried and tested over time, and I have to say 100% recommended by me :-)
Lots of love my darlings,
I purchased the Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel, which arrived in the post today. Clinique have a few different moisturizers but I choose this one as it is for oily/combination skin. I have been super excited to try this as I have heard great things about the product.
I have just applied this after showering/cleansing, my first thought was the texture is very light and easy to apply. It does have a very mild scent, kinda of like suncream.. but this seems to hardly be noticeable once applied to the skin. A small amount goes a really long way so you only need a tiny bit of product, which is great as this moisturizer is slightly on the pricey side! After a couple of seconds the moisturizer feels like it has sunk into my skin really well and leaves a non sticky matt finish.
I have combination skin with a oily T-zone and currently have dry patches on my cheeks, I'm excited to see how I get on with this moisturizer and if it works for my skin type. I have high hopes so fingers crossed!
Overall I would say my first impression of this product is positive and I'm super excited to see how my skin looks in the morning. I will definitely keep you guys updated on my thoughts after using this product for a couple of weeks :-).
If you have used the Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel I'd love to know your thoughts/if you think it's worth the $!
Lots of love,
