Happy 2019!! Can’t quite believe I’m saying that, I still feel like it should be a few months away! Anyway here we are, I hope you all had a lovely break over the holidays and ate as much food/chocolate as you could... I know I pretty much lived on junk food throughout December whoooops!
The new year always seems to call for the latest new diet trends, fitness goals, getting healthy, weight loss ect ect. So I thought it would be the perfect time to post about my experience of trying lipoglaze Cryotherapy fat freezing and lipofirm body contouring.
A little background on my diet and thoughts on my body... I basically eat what I want when I want. I've never really been one to diet and I am a huge lover of chocolate and cakes! Anything sweet is my weakness!
I used to be really tiny, but like most people as i've got older and also had a child i've gained weight/curves. To give you an idea I'm now around a UK size 10 i'd say. In my early twenties I was probably a size 6 with a 25 inch waist. My hips used to measure 32 inches pre baby and now they are 36.
I don't really dislike my bigger body it's just different to me. To be honest I think I prefer my bigger hips and bum now. However I do have a tiny ribcage so I feel like weight on my tummy can easily be seen and looks a bit out of place next to my small waist. This was one of the main reasons I wanted to try some sort of lipo... I wanted to loose fat only in a targeted area and I don't think I would have been able to do this with dieting.
Does it really work? Is it worth it? What even is it? All will be answered!
Hey darlings, I hope you have all had a lovely week so far?
Today's post is something a little different, but something I wanted to mention as you know I love to save you guys money if I find a good deal! So the other day I was talking about contact lenses to some of my family members, and it came up in conversation about Lenstore. I discovered Lenstore about 3 or 4 years ago and have been getting my contact lenses from there ever since! It got me thinking that I should definitely share it with you all!
A little background about my eyes...
I am unfortunately VERY short sighted. To give you an example, if I have my laptop on my lap it's completely blurry without my glasses or contact lenses... So I am always wearing either glasses or contacts.
Finding the right contacts lenses...
Many years back I used to buy monthly lenses which were great in terms of being cost effective. But I had my fair share of problems with those, getting eye infections and a lot of discomfort after wearing the lenses a few times. Admittedly it may have been I wasn't looking after them well enough or something along those lines but I did feel I did everything I was supposed to with them.
After that I tried 2 weeklies then moved on to daily disposable lenses which I really loved, I personally found them the most comfortable and hygienic of any lenses i'd tried. The only downfall with daily lenses was the cost. To have enough pairs for every day of the month was really expensive from the highstreet opticians! That's when I started to do research and came across Lenstore. If you are a contact lens wearer you will probably recognise a lot of the brands on the Lenstore website, my personal favs are the 'Focus Dailies All Day Comfort' I have been buying these for years now and have never been let down. I often get itchy and dry eyes but find these don't irritate or make my eyes any worse thankfully!
So why am I writing this and letting you know about Lenstore? Because the prices of the contact lenses on the Lenstore website are SO good that I really think that everyone who wears contacts should know about it! For 30 daily disposable lenses it comes to £14.65 which I think is such a bargain... I believe this is less than half the price I was paying before from a highstreet branch of opticians.
For those of us who need glasses/contacts it's so frustrating having to pay out so much money on an on-going basis so I really believe it's important to share finds like this. Of course I'm not saying you should just go for the cheapest option over quality BUT if you can find the same brand and quality for a better price then that's perfect right?!
This isn't something I had thought of mentioning before as it's just something I have been buying for years and didn't really think anything about it. But after hearing how much friends were spending on their contact lenses I thought it was definitely worth sharing! Of course I wanted to get the best deal for all of you lovely people who read my blogs so I decided to contact Lenstore to let them know I would be sharing this post.
To which they kindly gave me a discount code 'RACHIE10' for you all to use if you need any contact lenses. This will give you 10% off your order, all you will need is an up to date contact lens prescription where relevant!
I really hope this post was helpful and saves you some money if you wear contacts and don't already get them from Lenstore. If you have any other recommendations please do let me know!

MY FAV LENSES: Focus Dailies All Day Comfort
What is your favourite way to relax and treat yourself? As a busy working mum I hardly get any peace and quiet so my ideal relaxation time would be a massage or something spa based. Over the next few weeks I am going to be sharing some of my favourite spas and places to pamper yourself!
Although it can easily be forgotten we should remind ourselves the importance of taking time out to refresh and relax. I know it can be hard to find the time, but try to put a few hours or so aside for YOU at least once a month.
In today’s post I wanted to give a quick shoutout to Little Jasmine day spa and Beauty Salon in Brighton & Hove.
What is so good about this particular spa?
In short, the standard of their treatments is absolutely amazing! I haven't been anywhere else in the UK that lives up to the same standard of massage as Little Jasmine. I’ve had lots of massages at other places too but I find the ones here superior to other massage therapies I’ve tried, they also seem to be very consistent no matter which person you get doing the treatment which is really great. There's nothing worse than having a great treatment by one therapist then something on a totally different level from another at the same place.
As well as being relaxing I find the massages actually 'do' something too to help my back pain for the longer than the time the massage lasts. Of course it's lovely to have a massage to help you feel relaxed but if it can help joint pain too for a longer period of time then that's a massive bonus right?! My favourite massage they offer is the Thai Fusion, which is a combination of Thai oil, traditional Thai, hot stone and deep tissue. I haven’t found a massage like this anywhere else and it’s soooooo good! In my opinion it's the perfect balance between stretching to sort out those pains and being very relaxing.
A little background about my body:
For many years now I have had back pain, it pretty much aches all the time and since having a baby I find my hips get quite achey too if I walk for too long ect. Spending a lot of time at a desk doesn’t help either, combined with stress and not enough sleep. I’ve been trying to find ways to help this and so far yoga and massages have been the most helpful.
I have been to a chiropractor before for the aches and pains but I have actually found these massages to be more beneficial which is a really great...as well as cheaper and more relaxing haha. Of course everyone is different so if you do have chronic pains be sure to tell your massage therapist before hand so they can make sure you are having the suitable treatment!
What else do they offer?
As well as a variety of amazing massages Little Jasmine also offer beauty treatments such as Elemis facials, crystal clear microdermabrasion, nails and waxing (there are so many varieties of facials and massages so be sure to check out their website for the full details). I am hoping to book a crystal clear microdermabrasion facial when I get some free time, so I will definitely let you all know how that goes! Something else I love at this spa is the infrared sauna, I personally love to go in the sauna for half an hour before having a massage. These two combined are absolute heaven!!
I have to say I'm really pleased that I have finally got around to writing this blog post...I'm so slow with getting posts up I know sorryyyy (busy mumlife takes over)! I've wanted to mention Little Jasmine Spa for quite some time now. I love sharing amazing little finds like this with you all! There are so many places out there that it can be hard to choose. I do genuinely believe that this place is worth every single penny and is 100% worth trying out if you haven't already. If you only have limited time and your hard earned cash it's important to choose somewhere that is going to give you the best possible treatments and experience :-) hopefully some of you will be able to enjoy the lovely therapies here as much as I have over the years!
If you do visit Little Jasmine spa or have been here before i'd love to know your thoughts and favourite treatments?
Also as a side note - this place does the BEST thai tea! They bring it over from Thailand and it is just blissssss... If you have been to Thailand and miss the tea then you need to book up here just so you can have some haha!
** DISCLAIMER I was NOT paid for this post - I contacted Little Jasmine to ask if they'd be interested in me writing a blog post to which they replied yes and offered me a complimentary massage as well as 10% off for my lovely readers. I have been paying for treatments here for years and will continue to do so for many more i'm sure! **
Hello and welcome!
Even at the age of 24 I still suffer with hormonal breakouts and never seem to have fully clear skin for longer than a few days. For many years I have reached for products that contain salicylic acid...although I think this does help my skin it never seems to completely clear it up.
So I decided to do some research and came across benzoyl peroxide, another ingredient used to clear acne. I went to my local CVS pharmacy and picked up 'maximum strength Terminator 10' which has 10% benzoyl peroxide. I later found out this is the highest percentage you can buy over the counter.
Before bed I put this cream on areas I had breakouts: cheeks, small patch of forehead and a bit on my neck. To my surprise it didn't seem to sting or tingle much when it was applied.
I should have really just tried out a small amount first to see how my skin reacted. But I assumed that my skin would be ok seeing as though I have had acid peels in the past with no problems and microdermabrasion, both which are quite harsh treatments. I was wrong to assume!
It was at this point I came across the Dermalogica breakout clearing daytime treatment, from the clear start range. This contains 2.5% bp. (I must point out this product only contains bp in the US version, due to a change in EU laws if you buy this outside the US it will not contain bp).
As my skin was still very sore I decided not to apply anymore bp products for a few days until it started to heal.
After about a week I felt I was ready to try using bp properly this time! I started using the Dermalogica daytime treatment every morning after washing my face. You only need a very tiny amount of this stuff, a little goes a long way. Make sure you avoid the eye area and neck as these parts are extra sensitive!
My skin still felt slightly itchy in areas but nothing compared to before.
I continued to apply this every morning after cleansing. It has been over 2 months and I've only had 1 or 2 tiny pimples come up, which didn't last longer than a day! I am now even able to apply small amounts of the 10% bp to areas I am particularly concerned about without it causing irritation.
As many people have said...benzoyl peroxide really is something you need to stick at and use carefully to see positive results.
After my skin had got used to the bp it has honestly been the best face cream I have ever used for keeping my spots away. It's really great to find a product (or ingredient should I say) that works consistently with amazing results, super pleased!
As always, thank you so much for reading my blog post and I hope it had been helpful to some of you!
Heyy my beauties! It's that time again, another month has gone by :-) I wanted to share some of my May favourites.. these include; skincare, make-up and fashion. I really hope you enjoy reading!
1. Ren AHA Serum -
LOVE this serum, i'd say it is the best/most effective serum I have used. I use this each night after I wash my face then apply my moisturiser before bed. I find if I have any breakouts or dry skin they are vastly improved by the morning after using this serum. I find the AHA ingredients really work well for my skin. I love the tingly feeling when you apply this product to your face, it's seems like you can feel it working :-) If you like glycolics and they work well for you i'd deff recommend trying out the Ren AHA serum. I also love that Ren do not test on animals <3 as an animal lover this really makes Ren a very appealing brand to me. All their products seem to be of a high quality, I have quite a few samples of different Ren products and they all work great!
2. Maybelline concealer -
Can't believe I have only just tried this concealer.. it is my new fav! I was previously using a MAC concealer mixed with Revlon skin lights, but this Maybelline concealer stick has definitely taken over as my new fav. I love the consistency, It covers well without being too cakey or heavy. I also find this product blends in really well and does not crease throughout the day. I got this from my local drugstore, it was very affordable which is an added bonus. Huge thumbs up for this product!
3. Smashbox Photo Finish Light Primer - I have been using this primer for a couple of months now and I plan to continue using it for a long time! I love that this primer is oil free and very light on the skin. The consistency is quite silky and clear in colour. A little goes a long way and I find it really helps to even out my combination skin. It leaves the face feeling so soft and non greasy. I also have quite large pores on my nose and I definitely think this product helps to stop my pores getting clogged up with make-up / dirt throughout the day.
I recently went on holiday and forgot to take my primer (which I will never do again).. I must say I really noticed a huge difference without it, not in a good way!
I think this primer would work well on any type of skin, however If you have combination/break out prone skin I would 100% recommend this product.. it is fantastic :-)
5. Nivea - In shower body moisturiser
Picked up this product a couple of weeks ago from my local drugstore, and it has really been a great addition to my shower routine. You use this product after washing with your shower gel.. you simply rub it all over your body then wash off! It leaves your skin feeling so soft and moisturised. I love how quick and convenient this is to use, and you don't need to use moisturiser after showering when you use this product. However I do have a couple of very dry patches of skin/eczema on my body so I sometimes like to add a little extra moisturiser to these parts after my shower if needed. It perfect if you are in a rush or if you often forget to moisturise your full body, like me :P
5. Summer Trousers
I wanted to share 1 fashion favourite for this month, and it has to be these new trousers from Forever 21.
I think they are so perfect for summer, I love them! I really love how comfy and light they are, and of course have a beautiful floral design which is one of my favs <333 I think the high waisted shape is very flattering, they also hide any lumps and bumps which is always great. I think these are a perfect addition to a summer wardrobe!
I really hope you enjoyed this blog, if you try/have tried any of these products please let me know your thoughts :-)
Lots of love, Rachie xoxoxox
