Hello foodie lovers and welcome back!
Today's post is going to be a quick mention about Baked cafe in Hove. I spend quite a bit of time here so thought it was about time I mentioned it on the food blog!
Baked has my favourite almond milk hot chocolate, it's not too sickly sweet and just the right amount chocolatey in my opinion! I really like that they offer both almond, and oat milk here. Too many cafes just seem offer soy so it's nice to go somewhere with more dairy free options!
As well as the drinks Baked also offers a handful of dairy free cakes and food options on the menu. I have tried a number of the cakes here and they are all so yummy, they seem to change on a weekly basis so if you visit often you can always try something different. Again, it's fantastic to find a cafe offering more than 1 vegan / dairy free option!
Today I tried the 'Vegan Better' sandwich from the menu. It's a panini style sandwich filled with veggie sausage, tomato, avocado, red pepper and tomato salsa. It was really tasty and filling, i'd definitely recommend giving this a try if you are in the area! My son who is 15 months old also loved this sandwich!
I find the service at Baked is always brilliant... the floor staff are friendly, quick to take orders and bring out drinks even when it's busy. The standard and quality of food is also great in my opinion. I find the cafe a really nice place to sit, it had modern decor with comfy seating. It has quite a chilled out vibe even though it's in the centre of busy Hove.
So if you are in Hove and are looking for a cafe with delicious vegan options, as well as food for meat eaters, gluten free and more i'd definitely recommend taking a stop at Baked!
Here is one of the new vegan cakes at Baked that I tried today, it's a delicious fruit and nut cake - perfect for the autumn!
Hello foodie friends and welcome back.
Today's post is going to be a quick mention of a delicious food find from Brighton... beFries! I can't resist a good portion of fries every now and then, can you?!
If you haven't yet tried beFries I definitely recommend going to check them out. Their double cooked Belgian style fries are extremely tasty on their own but what really brings them to the next level are their delicious selection of vegan sauces (If you eat in you can try as many sauces as you like). Be sure to ask the staff for the vegan sauces to try as they are not all listed on the menu. My personal favs are the sate, basil mayo and garlic mayo yummmm.
I have visited beFries a number of times in the last few months and always find their customer service brilliant, very friendly helpful staff and food is ready in a timely manner. I think it's clear to see the food is made to a very high standard by people who really care about what they are creating. This combined with the yummy food itself makes it a really lovely place to stop for a quick lunch or evening snack!
Where to find:
46 West Street, Brighton BN1, United Kingdom
If you have tried beFries let me know what you think, what are your fav sauces? For those who haven't I hope you get to give them a try sometime in the future, if you enjoy fries i'm sure you will love these!
Thanks so much for reading. Hope you enjoyed this quick foodie mention!
Hello fellow foodie lovers, I hope you are all well today?
I love a good afternoon tea, however since being vegan I have found it a lot more challenging to find somewhere that does a proper vegan afternoon tea. Rather than just taking off half the stuff and swapping with fruit and a bit of cake.
So after doing some research I was pleasantly surprised to find that Terre a Terre in Brighton offered a full vegan menu for afternoon tea! They also have vegetarian and gluten free options if that is something you are looking for.
I went along with my husband for my 26th birthday and I have to say I was not disappointed! All the food was absolutely delicious as well as being presented beautifully. The flavour combinations were fantastic, my personal favourite being the orange and almond cake served with berry sorbet.
They also brought out a chocolate birthday dish which I thought was a really nice touch.
For the standard of food the price is fair in my opinion, the staff were friendly and generally an enjoyable place to eat. My only negative comment would be that I thought we waited quite a while for the food to be served, but other than that I can't complain. If you are on the lookout for somewhere that does vegan or gluten free afternoon tea I'd definitely recommend giving Terra a Terre a try!
Please feel free to recommend other restaurants that you have found. I am also on the look out for places to try in London!
